Newfoundland Pony Society Renaissance Initiative Report

Preserving a Living Heritage Through Smart Technology

Conach Consulting was engaged by the Newfoundland Pony Society (NPS) to support the design of a custom database and nationwide census strategy to protect and promote the critically endangered Newfoundland Pony. As stewards of the official pony registry under provincial legislation, the NPS needed an integrated digital platform capable of managing pedigree, ownership, geographic distribution, and membership information. Through extensive consultation and data modeling, Conach developed a tailored system architecture that enables accurate tracking of both registered and unregistered ponies while supporting long-term conservation, tourism engagement, and heritage education goals.

Building a Foundation for Visibility and Vitality

In addition to technical design, Conach produced a strategic roadmap for a national pony census and public awareness campaign. This included recommendations for stakeholder partnerships, volunteer coordination, and multi-platform social media engagement—ensuring the NPS could reach and register ponies across Canada and the U.S. The report positioned the Newfoundland Pony not just as a protected breed, but as a unique cultural asset and potential tourism icon. This project exemplifies Conach’s ability to combine heritage conservation, technology, and strategic planning to support meaningful, sustainable outcomes for non-profit clients and the communities they serve.
