Terry isn’t just checking boxes — he’s building the whole framework. Whether it’s a nonprofit boardroom, a private sector company, or a geopark under UNESCO’s eye, he brings sharp thinking, airtight structure, and a knack for clarity where others see chaos.

Terry is a seasoned consultant with deep expertise in strategic planning, governance renewal, and organizational development. With a track record of helping nonprofits, First Nations, private sector companies, academic institutions, and social enterprises navigate complexity, Terry is known for transforming insight into action and aligning big-picture vision with operational detail. Terry works at the intersection of strategy, data, and delivery—always with a commitment to community impact and long-term resilience.

Dr. Tom Cooper

Where Strategy Meets Integrity

Dr. Tom Cooper is a strategist, risk expert, and leadership educator with a global consulting pedigree and a passion for ethical business. Before joining Memorial University’s Faculty of Business Administration, Tom sharpened his edge as a Senior Manager with PwC in London, advising multinational corporations across North America, the UK, and the EU on strategic planning, compliance risk, and business transformation.

Armed with a PhD in Business from the University of Warwick and degrees in Commerce and Philosophy from Memorial, Tom brings sharp insight and human perspective to the boardroom and the classroom alike. He lectures on strategy, ethics, and risk, leads executive training across sectors, and contributes research that bridges the gap between governance and corporate responsibility. A Certified Management Consultant and frequent conference speaker, Tom is as comfortable in academic journals as he is advising startups or shaping policy.

Kathryn Atkin​

The Board Whisperer

With over 35 years of experience in the charitable and not-for-profit sector, Kathryn Atkin is a powerhouse in governance transformation. From founding boardrooms to crisis-turnaround sessions, Kathryn specializes in helping boards find clarity, direction, and momentum — whether they’re just getting started or stuck at a crossroads.

Her leadership spans Rotary International District 7820, where she’s served in nearly every top role, to pivotal positions with United Way Newfoundland and Labrador and Connections for Seniors. Honoured with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and the Mark Brown Community Builder Award, Kathryn blends wisdom, warmth, and strategy into every organization she touches. Whether guiding a youth choir through change or facilitating board renewal, she brings heart, history, and hands-on expertise to building stronger communities — one board at a time.
