Food First NL Staff Structure Review Report

Strategic Workforce Design for Community Impact
Strategic Workforce Design for Community Impact Conach Consulting partnered with Food First NL to conduct a comprehensive review of its staffing structure, with the goal of aligning human resources with the organization’s evolving strategic direction. The review assessed current job roles, succession planning, management capacity, and salary structures in relation to Food First NL’s mission to improve food security across Newfoundland and Labrador. Through extensive document analysis, interviews, and scenario planning, Conach recommended a streamlined organizational model with newly defined management roles—including a Program Manager, Finance and Office Manager, and Institutional Food Project Manager—designed to support operational efficiency and strategic execution.
Supporting Growth Through Practical and Sustainable Solutions
The report also introduced job reclassifications, eliminated redundant roles, and established a framework for fair and sustainable compensation. Special attention was given to financial sustainability, governance alignment, and succession planning for executive leadership. The updated staffing model enables Food First NL to respond more effectively to community needs, manage its growing project portfolio, and ensure long-term organizational resilience. This project highlights Conach Consulting’s expertise in workforce restructuring, strategic planning, and governance advisory services for mission-driven, non-profit organizations.
